• General Rules

    • Our lobby is often FULL of young dancers and their families! The lobby becomes quite congested between classes, especially in the beginning of our season. This should subside once everyone determines the best times to drop-off and pick-up their children. We appreciate your patience!
    • We are a very busy studio with many families to serve. We ask that you help us by not allowing children to run or become too noisy in the lobby area. This is where our office manager must work. Running and/or horseplay is disturbing to our staff and other parents in the lobby and simply will not be tolerated.
    • Preschool-1st grade children must be supervised before and after their class. Please remain in the lobby until your instructor is ready for class and comes to get your child.
    • 2nd grade-12th grade students are allowed to be dropped off at CDA and should wait in the Dancer’s Corner for their classes. For safety reasons, we ask that this area be for students and instructors only. We encourage students to visit with their friends (quietly), enjoy healthy snacks, study and warm-up for classes in this area.
    • No students (of any age) are allowed to wait outside the studio for their ride.
    • CDA cannot be responsible for students before or after class. Parents must be prompt in dropping off/picking up their children.
    • No children...including siblings of dance students or dance students who are at CDA on a day other than their dance days(s)...may be left unattended in the CDA lobby for any reason.
    • Please keep all snacks to a minimum. Water and snacks are available for purchase at CDA. Should there be a spill, please let our office manager know.
    • CDA is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Please remember this as you leave your dance bags unattended during your dance class.
    • Parents are always invited to observe your child’s dance class on the color monitors located in the lobby.

  • In the Parking Lot...

    • All children must be supervised when in the lobby and outside in the sidewalk and parking lot area.
    • CDA parents and driving students may either park in the front or side parking lot. The side parking lot is located through the breezeway between CDA and Burchell Properties. You may reach this parking lot by driving behind the building.
    • Please do not block the flow of traffic in the front parking lot. Do not leave your car on the curb. Park in a parking place. CDA should never be responsible for any blocking of traffic.
    • Student drivers should never walk to their cars alone after dark. Please walk out with another dancer or have one of the CDA staff escort or watch you until you enter your vehicle.

     And in the Classroom

    • Please visit the restroom BEFORE class!
    • Students are expected to be respectful and attentive in class to their teachers and fellow classmates.
    • Students should not gossip. They should work in unison towards their goals as an individual and as a class.
    • Students are expected to have a good attitude. We are a private studio and reserve the right to dismiss any student who disregards studio policy, shows inappropriate behavior or upsets the harmony of the school.
    • Regular attendance is necessary to maintain progress in the class. Poor attendance will result in poor training. Absences and tardiness can have a negative effect on the entire class.
    • Students should be dressed appropriately for all classes. Long hair must be secured off the neck in either a ponytail  or a bun. Jewelry should be minimal. Exposed abdomens are not allowed.
  • Tuition Policies

    • Tuition is due by the 15th of each month. There will be a $15 late charge automatically added to any account 30 days past due.
    • CDA accepts cash, checks, and Visa/MasterCard/Discover credit and debit cards. Online payments may be made through our Parent Portal.
    • Checks may be mailed to 1412 Trotwood Avenue, Suite #16, Columbia, TN  38401; placed in the payment box located by our front office; or, if CDA is closed, put through the payment slot located by the front door.
    • Checks returned for insufficient funds must be paid in cash within 10 business days of notification, along with a $25 returned check fee.
    • Tuition is based on an entire season and broken down into 9 equal payments. The amount is not based on class attendance. Some months may have 3 lessons; some may have 5; however, your tuition amount remains the same.

  • Dropping / Adding Classes

    • Please let our office manager know if your student would like to add a class.
    • Adding any classes of a higher skill level require approval from Millie.
    • CDA must receive a written or emailed notice in order to withdraw from a class. Tuition will still be owed - regardless of class attendance - until this notice is received.
    • Any student withdrawing from a class on or after November 1st will owe a $25 drop fee.
  • For current CDA families, the complete version of your Parent/Student Handbook can be accessed here.
