Dress Code/Supplies
First Steps Program
Most of these items can be purchased at CDA.
General Rules
- No bare midriffs allowed.
- Jewelry must be minimal.
- Cover-up clothing MUST be worn when entering/exiting CDA.
- Shirts and/or tank tops are not allowed in genres other than Little Bit Hip.
- Hair must be secured off the face for all classes (ponytail or bun).
Creative Movement
Girls:
- Any color leotard (with or without skirt)
- Pink ballet shoes (NO STRINGS/TIES ALLOWED)
- Tights and/or thin socks optional
Boys:
- White t-shirt and black athletic pants or shorts
- Black ballet shoes (NO STRINGS/TIES ALLOWED)
Pre-Ballet/Tap & Intro to Ballet/Tap
Girls:
- Any color leotard (with or without skirt)
- Pink ballet shoes (NO STRINGS/TIES ALLOWED)
- Black tap shoes
- Tights and/or thin socks optional
- Dance bag labeled with student’s first and last name
Boys:
- White t-shirt and black athletic pants or shorts
- Black ballet shoes (NO STRINGS/TIES ALLOWED)
- Black tap shoes
- Dance bag labeled with student’s first and last name
Little Bit Hip
Girls:
- Comfortable athletic clothing (no denim) OR students may wear attire for Intro to Ballet/Tap. We will not allow students to change clothes between consecutive classes.
- Hip Hop shoes (must be purchased from CDA)
- Dance bag labeled with student’s first and last name
Boys:
- Comfortable athletic clothing (no denim)
- Solid black or black/white tennis shoes (worn ONLY for Little Bit Hip class)
- Dance bag labeled with student’s first and last name
Leveled Program
Most of these items can be purchased at CDA.
General Rules
- No bare midriffs allowed.
- Jewelry must be minimal.
- Cover-up clothing MUST be worn when entering/exiting CDA.
- Shirts and/or tank tops are not allowed in genres other than Hip Hop.
- Warm-up attire may be worn for the beginning of class during colder months. It must be removed once requested by the instructor.
Girls
Leotards and tights are required for ALL classes, with the exception of Hip Hop.
- Red Level and up: Black leotard and pink tights for ballet/pointe
- Orange Level: May wear leotards with attached skirts
- Hip Hop: Comfortable athletic clothing (no denim) or dance attire from the previous class.
Hair must be secured off the face for ALL classes.
- Orange and Purple Levels: may wear either a ponytail or a bun.
- Red Level and up: buns required for all classes, with the exception of Hip Hop (ponytail)
Shoes
- Ballet: Pink ballet shoes (split-sole)
- Tap: Black tap shoes
- Jazz: Tan jazz shoes
- Hip Hop: Must be purchased from CDA and worn in class ONLY
- Lyrical: Tan lyrical shoes
- Pointe: Pink pointe shoes
- Contemporary: Contemporary socks (must be purchased from CDA)
Boys
Solid white t-shirt and black athletic shorts required for all classes, with the exception of Hip Hop
Hip Hop – Any color comfortable athletic clothing (no denim)
Shoes
- Ballet: Black ballet shoes (split-sole)
- Tap: Black tap shoes
- Jazz: Black jazz shoes
- Hip Hop: Solid black or black/white tennis shoes (worn in class ONLY)
- Lyrical: Black jazz shoes or black ballet shoes
- Contemporary: Contemporary socks (must be purchased from CDA)
